The Valbruna Inn is a small hotel located in the heart of the village
of Valbruna right on main street. We are a group of local friends
and we had the idea of renovating this 150-year-old building in
1999 because of our passion for this area, its mountains, the local
culture and traditions.

The Inn, originally opened in 1951 as Pensione Keil, was completely renovated
and reopened in December of 2002 combining traditional wooden furniture
and alpine decor with many modern amenities. It features a complete bar,
restaurant, a panoramic sauna on the top floor, satellite T.V. in every
room and several private balconies with gorgeous views of the peaks surrounding
the village.
We have created in the Inn an extensive library dedicated to Julius Kugy,
legendary mountain explorer, botanist and writer of the early 1900's. It
is located in the old fireplace room adjacent to the bar and presents hundreds
of new, old and rare books in Italian, German and English on mountaineering,
skiing, plants and animals of the mountains, history, culture, traditions
and cuisine of the region.
All the 13 rooms of the Inn have beautiful views of the peaks and forests
surrounding the village; we dedicated each of them to a particular theme:
a local peak, an historical figure or another subject of great interest
in the local culture and tradition.
The rooms, all painted a different color and featuring different beddings
and bathroom tiles, are furnished with rare books, antiques and solid spruce
furniture. We also added special features to make your stay unique: a private
sauna or a fireplace, walk-in double head showers or a King size bathtub
with a mountain view.
While staying at the Valbruna Inn, you can also enjoy the many outdoor activities
available year round or explore the three adjacent countries, Italy, Austria
and Slovenia, to experience three completely different cultures that meet
and blend within a few miles making this region unique in all of Europe.
Explore the Valbruna Inn website to see what you will find when you visit
us! We hope to see you soon!
